OBJECTIVES:
  • the study of the interaction between bio-mimetic membranes and antitumor drugs irradiated with proton beams accelerated in the Phasotron DLNP, at JINR;
  • in vitro testing of antitumor drugs (exposed or unexposed to proton beams) - hemolytic activities;
  • in vitro testing of antitumor drugs (exposed or unexposed to hadrons) cytotoxic effects.
EXPECTED RESULTS: Main results expected from this investigation are:
  1. the spectroscopic characterization of the interaction between bio-mimetic membranes and antitumor drugs irradiated with proton beam.
  2. the investigation of the hemolytic activity by in vitro testing of antitumor drugs (exposed or unexposed to proton beam)
  3. the investigation of the cytotoxic effects by in vitro testing of antitumor drugs (exposed or unexposed to hadrons).
